Ingredients
- 2 ribeye, sirloin, or strip steaks
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon The Spice Way Smoked Paprika
- 1 teaspoon The Spice Way Granulated Garlic
- 1 teaspoon The Spice Way Granulated Onion
- 1 teaspoon The Spice Way Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon The Spice Way Chili Flakes, optional
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Preparation
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix the smoked paprika, granulated garlic, granulated onion, black pepper, chili flakes if using, and salt.
- Rub the steaks with olive oil, then coat both sides with the spice mixture. Let sit at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Heat a grill, grill pan, or heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steaks 3 to 5 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
- Rest the steaks 5 minutes before slicing.
Note: If pan-searing, avoid letting the spice crust blacken; smoked paprika can turn bitter if scorched.
