Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon neutral oil
- 1 pound ground chicken or turkey
- 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small carrot, finely diced
- 1 red bell pepper, finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons The Spice Way Sesame Seeds, toasted
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 head butter lettuce or romaine leaves, separated
- Optional: sliced green onions, chopped peanuts or cashews, sriracha
Preparation:
1. Heat the neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground chicken or turkey and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
2. Add the onion, carrot, bell pepper, and garlic and cook 3 to 4 minutes, until just tender.
3. Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and cilantro. Cook 1 minute more, just until glossy and well mixed.
4. Spoon the filling into the lettuce leaves and top with green onions, nuts, or sriracha if desired. Serve immediately.
