Smoked Paprika Mummy Hot Dogs

Makes: 8

Ingredients

  • 8 fully cooked hot dogs
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon The Spice Way Smoked Paprika
  • Mustard or ketchup, for eyes
  • Flour, for dusting if needed

Preparation

  1. Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly roll out the puff pastry and cut it into thin strips. Wrap each hot dog with pastry strips, leaving a small gap near one end for the mummy face.
  3. Whisk the egg with the water and smoked paprika. Brush the pastry lightly with the paprika egg wash.
  4. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden. Dot mustard or ketchup onto the exposed part of each hot dog for eyes and serve warm.
