Tacos (Beginner)

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs 
  • 1 tbsp olive oil 
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas 
  • Shredded lettuce or cabbage 
  • Diced tomatoes 
  • Sliced avocado 
  • Shredded cheese 
  • Chopped cilantro 
  • Lime wedges 
  • Optional: salsa, sour cream, hot sauce

 

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  1. Season chicken with taco seasoning, salt, and pepper. 
  2. Cook in olive oil over medium-high heat until no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes per side. Rest, then slice or shred. 
  3. Heat tortillas in a skillet or microwave until warm and pliable. 
  4. Place lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, avocado, cheese, and cilantro on tortillas. 
  5. Squeeze lime juice over tacos. 
  6. Serve with optional toppings like salsa, sour cream, and hot sauce. 
  7. Arrange tacos on a platter and serve immediately.
