Pound Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instruction:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, slice and serve your delicious Cinnamon Pound Cake with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, if desired. Enjoy!
