Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cardamom
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- Water (as needed)
- Ghee or oil (for frying)
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- A few saffron strands (optional)
Instructions:
- Mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and cardamom. Add yogurt and water to form a smooth, thick batter. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
- For syrup, boil sugar, water, and cardamom until sticky.
- Heat oil in a pan, pour the batter into a piping bag (or bottle) and pipe spirals into the oil. Fry until golden and crispy.
- Soak fried jalebis in warm syrup for a few seconds.
