Lemon Orange Pound Cake Recipe


  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) softened butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp baking powder and baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp each freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice
  • Zest of 1/4 orange and 1/4 lemon
  • 1 tbsp finely grated orange peel
  • 1 tbsp finely grated lemon peel


  1. Preheat oven to 325'F. Grease and flour a small loaf pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar; add egg.
  3. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to wet ingredients with sour cream.
  4. Mix in orange juice, lemon juice, orange zest, lemon zest, grated orange peel, and grated lemon peel.
  5. Pour batter into the pan; bake for 30-40 minutes.
  6. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with orange and lemon juice, then add grated orange and lemon peel.
  7. Once cooled, drizzle the glaze over the cake.
