Ginger Green Tea


  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon green tea leaves (or 2 green tea bags)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon lemon peel (finely grated or thinly sliced)
  • Honey or sweetener of your choice, to taste (optional)
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional).


  1. In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, add the green tea leaves (or tea bags), ground ginger, and a teaspoon of lemon peel to the saucepan.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and let the tea simmer gently for about 3-5 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the tea steep for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or tea strainer into a teapot or cups, discarding the tea leaves (or tea bags), ground ginger, and lemon peel.
  6. Sweeten the tea with honey or your preferred sweetener, if desired, stirring until dissolved.
  7. Serve the ginger green tea hot, garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.
