Turkey Kebab Meatballs in Tomato Sauce

Serves: 4
Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup fine breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated onion, squeezed dry
  • 1 tablespoon The Spice Way Kebab Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon The Spice Way Kebab Seasoning
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, grated onion, Kebab Seasoning, salt, and parsley. Shape into 16 small meatballs.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet and brown the meatballs lightly on all sides. Remove to a plate.
  3. In the same pan, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Cook the chopped onion for 5 minutes, then add the garlic and Kebab Seasoning and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the tomatoes and salt. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Return the meatballs to the sauce and simmer gently for 12 to 15 minutes, until cooked through.
Plating Note

Serve over couscous or rice with parsley scattered on top.
