Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, sliced
- 1 teaspoon The Spice Way Granulated Garlic
- 1 teaspoon The Spice Way Granulated Onion
- 1 teaspoon The Spice Way Dried Thyme Leaves
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 The Spice Way Bay Leaf, optional
- Salt and The Spice Way Black Pepper, to taste
- 2 cups cooked noodles or cooked rice, optional
- Chopped parsley, optional
Preparation
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, carrots, and celery and cook 5 minutes, until starting to soften.
- Stir in the granulated garlic, granulated onion, and thyme. Cook 30 seconds.
- Add the chicken broth, shredded chicken, and bay leaf if using. Bring to a simmer and cook 15 to 20 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
- Remove the bay leaf. Stir in cooked noodles or rice if using, season with salt and black pepper, and finish with parsley if desired.
