Serves: 4 Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb ground chuck, 80/20 blend
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon The Spice Way Granulated Garlic
- 1 teaspoon The Spice Way Granulated Onion
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon The Spice Way Black Pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 4 slices aged cheddar cheese
- 8 slices cooked bacon
- 4 brioche burger buns, toasted
- Arugula
- 4 tablespoons aioli or truffle mayo
- Optional: sautéed mushrooms or avocado slices
Preparation
- Heat the butter or olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook 15 to 20 minutes, stirring often, until deeply softened and golden. Stir in the apple cider vinegar and set aside.
- In a bowl, gently mix the ground chuck, Worcestershire sauce, granulated garlic, granulated onion, salt, and black pepper. Form into 4 patties without overworking the meat.
- Heat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties until browned and the center reaches 160°F. Add cheddar during the last minute so it melts.
- Build the burgers with arugula, the cheddar-topped patties, caramelized onions, bacon, and aioli or truffle mayo on toasted brioche buns.
