Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (85/15)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons The Spice Way Kebab Seasoning
- 1/2 small onion, grated and squeezed dry
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For Serving
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 4 pitas or flatbreads
Preparation
- Stir the yogurt with the lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the beef, Kebab Seasoning, grated onion, parsley, and kosher salt for 2 to 3 minutes, until the meat feels sticky and cohesive.
- Divide into 8 thin oval patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through.
- Warm the pita and serve with the yogurt and cucumber.
Plating Note
Serve 2 patties per person with a spoonful of lemon yogurt and warm pita on the side.
Note
Squeezing the onion dry makes the patties easier to shape and helps them brown instead of steam.
