Serves: 2
Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 4 The Spice Way Green Cardamom Pods, lightly crushed
- 1 small The Spice Way Cinnamon Sticks
- 4 The Spice Way Whole Cloves
- 4 The Spice Way Black Peppercorns
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced
- 2 teaspoons loose black tea or 2 black tea bags
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk or oat milk
- 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup
Preparation:
1. Combine the water, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, black peppercorns, and ginger in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer 5 minutes.
2. Add the tea and simmer 1 minute. Turn off the heat and let it steep 2 more minutes.
3. Add the milk and sweetener and return the pan to low heat. Warm until very hot and lightly frothy around the edges. Do not boil hard.
4. Strain into mugs and serve immediately.
Note: This should taste fragrant and warming, not heavy or over-spiced.
