Santa Claus Snickerdoodle Cookies

Makes: about 24 cookies

Ingredients:

For the Cookie Dough:

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon The Spice Way Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon The Spice Way Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

For Rolling:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For Decorating:

  • Red icing
  • White icing
  • Mini chocolate chips or chocolate icing
  • Red candies or red icing

Preparation:

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  3. Decorate each cookie with red icing for the hat, white icing for the beard and pom-pom, chocolate chips or chocolate icing for the eyes, and a red candy or icing dot for the nose. Let icing set before serving.
